Situation
When Gateway packaging experienced significant turnover among its management team, company leaders decided to start fresh with training to ensure new and experi enced leaders shared common goals and strategies for maintaing the company's 25 year history of quality and service.
IMEC Solution
After discussing goals and identifying focus areas, IMEC developed a training program that included workshops for approximately 20 supervisors focused on problem solving, Training Within Industry, and total productive maintenance. IMEC team members led the sessions over the course of three weeks. An IMEC project manager then spent one-on-one time with several shop floor supervisors to build job instruction documents for various pieces of equipment. IMEC also conducted a full-day lean manufacturing overview for the company's 12-member executive team.
